Award Ceremony

The Award Ceremony will take place in the Chemistry Department on Friday, May 18, 2018. The winners will receive prizes.

The results of the 2018 Wisconsin Crystal Growing Competition among middle and high school students will be announced at the ceremony.

 


Pre-award ceremony activities

If you are bringing minors – please print out and fill out the Photo-Release-Form. Photos taken at the award ceremony will be used to publicize the Contest.

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Guided Campus Walking Tour #1. UW-Madison Chemistry Building, Shain Tower lobby. Please meet your tour guides in the lobby of Shain Tower at the corner of Johnson Street and Charter Street. More information. Please e-mail Ilia Guzei to register. First come first serve.

10:30 am – Guided Geology museum tours for 60 people. Please e-mail Ilia Guzei to register. Make sure to mention your name, school, and number of people. First come first serve. The tours are free to the participants due to the generous sponsorship of the Chemistry Department. Tour details.

Alternatives. You are welcome to go on a self-guided tours of the UW-Madison campus and Geology Museum. You’ll need about 90 minutes for the campus tour and 60 minutes for the Geology museum tour.
